My Summer Vacation by Ethan

Last week mommy and daddy took us to the beach. It has been a long time since we have been to the beach (two years to be exact). Here I am on the way to the beach - -see I have my sunglasses on --ready for the beach???

I got sick the day after we got to the beach and took lots of naps for 3 whole days. I also did not eat much (but I sure loved laying in mommy and daddy's big bed in the condo and being held). After 3 days of being sick and sleepy, we had to see a doctor. One shot (it really hurt a lot) and some medicine and I was good as new. The next few pictures are from when I started feeling better. I loved building sand castles and watching the waves crash them down. I also like getting in the ocean.

Here I am being a cowboy on a really huge turtle!

I still have a little fever here and look a little skinnier

The night before we left, we got to walk on the beach after dark -- I saw a full moon! And, got to stay up past my bedtime!

I hope that we get to go back to the beach soon so that I can make more sandcastles!

Play Ball!

Saturday was Benjamin's first T-ball game. He was so excited about it and talked about the upcoming game for several days prior. Here are some pictures from the game (as a proud mom, I took about 150 pictures -- no joke). I won't subject you to all of them!

Ethan was supposed to be cheering Benjamin on -- so much for that!

Benjamin and the 3rd base coach --aka Dad! Look at that smile on Benjamin's face.

Benjamin played the pitcher position in the field. He did a great job and listened to the coaches. Benjamin also hustled after every ball -- even the ones that went past him into the outfield!

At the end of the game the coaches gave out two medals for great listening and Benjamin got one. He wore it the rest of the day! We can't wait for next weekend's game!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream

for Ice Cream!

We took the boys out for ice cream the other night and here they are waiting patiently for their special treats. Brotherly love at its best!

The boys are great about putting on their own shoes. Usually they will ask us if their shoes are on the correct feet. I told Ethan his shoes were on the wrong feet -- he told me they were not. So, here is is with his shoes on the "correct" feet.

Still waiting... Oh, also note the hat -- lately it has been an almost permanent fixture on Benjamin's head. It is the baseball cap from his t-ball team -- The Owlz. He has his first game on Saturday -- look for many pictures to come!

Here it is...

What a great treat!

We hope that you are enjoying the tail end of summer as much as we are!

I am a Bigger Boy Now

Ethan has has a bit of a complex lately. He wants to be bigger, like his brother. It seems like Benjamin gets to do all the fun things (including play t-ball). Ethan used to tell us "when I get more bigger, I' m gonna play t-ball." Now he is telling us that he IS a bigger boy.

Over Labor Day weekend, we enjoyed a few cooler mornings and tool the boys to the BIG park. Benjamin has gotten very good at crossing the disks on chains. Here is Benjamin:

And, Ethan's attempt (you know he IS a bigger boy now!):

And, here is my little buddy, when he realized that he can not cross the disks without help. Very frustrating!

And the boys on the big swings, look at those smiles!

We have had many talks about being a bigger boys and both boys always start the sentence with "When I get more bigger..." Boy hear this: Please do not get more bigger so fast!!

Photo Shoot

Since I got my new camera (almost 6 months ago), I have been dying to take the boys to a few cool places in the neighborhood to get some great pictures. About a week ago, the planets all aligned (translate: the boys had cute outfits clean, they were bathed, it was cool enough to be outside and the golf course was not full of golfers). Here are a few of my favorites:

2 1/2 Year Old Fun

You may not remember this from last year, when Benjamin was 2 1/2, but he really enjoyed covering himself with stickers. This is Benjamin from last year:

Here is Benjamin last week, laughing at what Ethan was doing......little did Benjamin know, he used to do the same thing!

And, here is Ethan last week, amusing himself with stickers:

Look for many more post soon, as I catch up. We have been getting ready for a weekend away and an up coming family vacation. Papaw and Uncle Evan graciously tag teamed watching the boys so that Brain and I could have a long weekend away. It was hard for me to leave the boys (this was only the second time ever for me to leave them) but it was so nice to be away and recharge! And, I know the boys has a wonderful time with Papaw and Uncle Evan. Thanks guys for taking care of my buddies!

Hanging out with the Grandparents....

We spend a good bit of time with Papaw and Gebee but I don't usually take pictures. Here are few from some recent play times with the grandparents.....

Gebee reading "just one more book." Can you see how had Ethan is laughing?

The boys love to play outside and discovered Papaw's screen porch last time we were there!

Oh, and a very Happy Grandparent's Day early (it's on the 12th of September) to Gebee and Papaw, the world's best grandparents!
