Field Trip - Children's Museum

Evan left for a well-deserved vacation but before he left, we took a trip to see him. We went to the Children's Museum downtown. The boys loved all the hands on things.

There was a large Lego play area and the boys created and built all kinds of things. Ethan is keeping an eye on what Benjamin is making.

Benjamin had so much fun playing in the delivery truck and send out boxes. He got a kick out of stacking boxes as tall as he could reach and then he and Ethan "crashed them down."

The boys thought they might like to drive a tractor some day -- I did not have the heart to tell them that our "garden" (1 tomato plant and 2 pepper plants) does not require a tractor!

Evan, Benjamin and Ethan playing in the sand.

Evan is helping the boys with their fishing technique!

It sure was a nice cool way to spend a hot afternoon. Thanks Uncle Evan for a fun day! We hope you had a wonderful time on your trip!

Dog Days of Summer

I do realize that it has been a long time since I posted -- thanks for continuing to come back. I have been working a lot of overtime lately and am still trying to get back to my organized self!

This summer has been much hotter then the past few -- and they boys are so antsy in the house all day -- here are some of the ways we have passed time lately.......

Huge suckers from Uncle Randy and Aunt Kay -- (note: make sure to give these to the boys right before we are going outside or to the pool. It was a big mistake for me to give them that much sugar when we were going to be in the house for several hours!)

We gladly helped Papaw celebrated his birthday. The boys love visiting with family and would never miss a chance to eat chip, salsa and cheese dip!

Wearing jammies in the middle of the day -- not me, just them!

And, ladies and gentlemen -- are you ready for this one...... attempting to potty train Ethan. I say attempting because he will pee pee on the potty but it has to be his idea -- not mine. This means that if it not his idea to use the potty, he will just pee pee in his diaper and then tell me change his diaper. In the meantime, Ethan has enjoyed being a "nudie booty."

We are also in the midst of getting ready to celebrate a special event on Saturday. Stay tuned for pictures and details!

4ht of July Fun

We had an Uncle come to see us on the 4th of July....no, it was not Uncle Sam. Uncle Randy and Aunt Kay came to see us. The boys had so much fun getting to know Randy and Kay and "showing off" their toys. Uncle Randy and Aunt Kay brought the boys 4th of July goodies (here they are wearing the hats) and a box full of musical instruments. Benjamin has really loved playing with the drum and Ethan won't put down the harmonica. It has taken a week, but both boys can now play the kazoo!

We grilled out and enjoyed these tasty little goodies that I made -- I couldn't think of a more suitable name -- Firecracker Bites!

Have a great week everyone!

4th of July Parade

It is an annual tradition for our neighborhood to have a 4th of July Parade. Everyone decks out their gold carts and we parade around the main road. The boys love to ride in golf cart and really love the parade!

A few days before the parade, we washed the golf cart -- here is one of my helpers!

And, here is the other one..... Yes, I know -- not so much helping with golf cart. Ethan told me that he had to cut the grass instead.

Ethan is practicing his wave before the parade. We were also waiting on Papaw to get here -- he rode in the parade with us!

The boys at the start of the parade, watching the bigger kids on bikes first.

Take a look at the Patriotic Golf Cart!

Cheering the big kids on....

A family picture.

Papaw was lucky enough to get to ride in the back with BOTH boys! Here they are taking a water break before we got moving.

This was my view during the parade......

I am not sure how many carts there were but it was a lot!

Happy 4th to everyone. Thanks Papaw for braving the heat to parade with us! Later today we are having more family over for a cookout -- look for more pictures to come!

Field Trip - Airport

Last weekend, we took a field trip to Hartsfield Airport. The boys love to watch airplanes in the sky and Brian found a parking lot near the airport where the planes fly right over your head as they take-off or land. On the way there, he boys told us that when they got to be "bigger boys," they were going to drive the airplanes!

Here, the boys are in between planes, entertaining themselves with the weeds growing in the grass!

Benjamin got so excited each time a plane flew over us.

"Look, Daddy, I see another one!"

Can you see the plane in the sky?? The boys can spot a plane 5 miles away

We are hoping to capitalize on their excitement -- Brian and I are talking about taking them on a trip to Chicago in the fall -- that means a plane ride for the boys -- it would be the first for Ethan and a second for Benjamin (he flew when he was 5 months old).
