Disco

This morning the library near our house had a "Baby Disco" party. The boys and I got our dancing shoes out and headed for the strobe lights and disco ball. It was a great party -- there was a tunnel to crawl in, Elmo and Micky Mouse singing, bells and bubbles. (We have learned that all you really need to make a toddler party a hit is bubbles!) Benjamin and Ethan enjoyed dancing and playing with the blocks and puppets. We went to lunch with a few friends afterwards at Chick-Fil-A. Yummy!

Take note of Benjamin's retro shirt -- it's as close to the 70's as we get!

Ethan's "style" of dancing.

Ethan says: "I am much better at standing and smiling then dancing."

Brian and I are looking forward to the weekend. We love all hanging out as a family. Hope that you have a great weekend.

Let's Go Boys

Brian was out of town last week and we had a few visitors. My dad and Evan came over to help with the boys who are so active now! The boys were so glad to see daddy on Saturday morning. We went to the "big park" (as Benjamin calls it) on Saturday.

Daddy and Ethan playing the hat game yesterday.

Thanks Uncle Evan for playing with the boys last week. They loved having you over!

Of course, Benjamin had a book in hand for Uncle Evan.

And, the best for last. We filmed Ethan yesterday -- he really is walking well now. He even got up from sitting on the floor with out holding on to anything. He loves to chase after Benjamin now. And, Benjamin just laughs!

Friends

This week and weekend was filled with friends. Since this is Valentine's Day Weekend, I will include a picture of my best friend. This was taken before the kiddos.
Benjamin had his friend Gavin over to play and they made cereal necklaces (or "neckies" as Benjamin says). We joke that Gavin is Benjamin's twin, as they were born on the same day at the same hospital, only 3 hours apart.

Here is a picture of Ethan and his friend next door - her name is Violet. Isn't she a cutie pie??

We hope that you had a wonderful weekend with your friends!

Warm Weather

So, the weather has been wonderful the last few days. We are taking full advantage of it. We were at the park twice over the weekend and this picture was taken this morning while I was telling the boys that we were going to the big park when daddy gets home today. (The big park has a huge climbing system and lots of fun slides. There are also swings for Ethan).

These are from the park in our neighborhood:

Ethan says "put me down."

We took Benjamin's soccer ball to the park, where there is an open field. Papaw and Uncle Evan got just as much exercise as Benjamin!

So, if you are looking for me and the boys -- we will be outside! Tomorrow it is supposed to be 71! Stay tuned for the boys most up-to-date stats, as we are going to the doctor on Wednesday for check ups.

When daddy is away....

Ethan will play (with his food)!
I feel like Ethan has not gotten his fair share of face time on the blog lately. Last night, he was eating a teething biscuit (the top two front teeth are almost in). This was the aftermath:

Here is Ethan after his bath, looking dapper in his jammies:

We miss daddy and hope he is staying warm in the wind and cold!

Benjamin's Birthday Party

Benjamin celebrated his second birthday with a small party at home. As you can see, Benjamin had a great time -- he does not care too much for cake but wanted seconds and thirds on the ice cream -- like mother, like son! Benjamin got a few more puzzles, a book (of course), flash card that show opposites, a Sit and Spin and money.

The fork and spoon were not working too well for Benjamin:

Benjamin did not want to wear his crown -- Ethan was excited to be able to wear big brother's crown.

The usual suspects at the party:

Happy Birthday Benjamin

Happy Birthday Big Boy! We can't believe that another year has flown by. We have watched you grow into your very own little person. You are particular are what you want and when you want it. You still love books and playing outside. You know all your ABCs and can count to 10. You snuggle with mommy and daddy and your laugh is contagious. You want to talk to daddy on the phone everyday when he is out of town. You are generous with hugs and kisses for the whole family but are not as generous with certain toys. You love your brother and your eyes light up when he is in the room. Benjamin, we counted the weeks until we could meet you and now it seems like we have known you forever. You bring a smile to our faces and with one look can make our hearts melt! We look forward to each new experience with you and are so glad your are our little boy!
